We were extremely fortunate to have Dean McEwen, Wendy and Rikki from Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation visit our school on Monday morning. Dean, a Yuin man who was born and raised on Dharawal country, gifted the school with a traditional fishing spear made by the Gumbul Djaadjaa (Strong Brother) Men’s Group. We thank Dean for sharing his extensive knowledge with our school community. We also sincerely thank the Gumbul Djaadjaa Men’s Group for such a special gift and Matty Simms from Djiriba Waagura for passing on his cultural knowledge and teaching the men’s group how to make the fishing spears.
