Year 11 students performed admirably once again in their role as volunteers at the annual Premier’s Seniors Week Gala Concert at the International Convention Centre.
The students were immersed in the production side of the event, particularly in relation to customer service. The VET Entertainment students found this experience very worthwhile and a great learning experience.
Our volunteers particularly enjoyed engaging in conversations with the seniors and learned a lot about their lives. They also escorted patrons to their seats including those in wheelchairs.
The students were praised for the manner in which they responded to patrons’ needs on many different levels. Engadine High School is very proud of the way the students represented both themselves and the school at this important event.
An email sent to our Principal from an attending patron:
Congratulations on sending such helpful students to Seniors Day Thursday.
Your students were easily recognised by their uniforms.
I was blessed to have Flynn as my escort. He pushed me from the theatre to the bus being considerate and caring of all my needs.
There was a reasonable wait for our turn to depart home. During that time it would have been difficult to find a better companion. Flynn engaged in conversation with us older generation adding so much value to my day out.
I was unable to thank him personally at the bus due to the difficulty of getting me loaded back on.
Please pass on my congratulations and thanks to all the students, iIn particular Flynn who is a credit to your school and a real pleasure to have encountered.
