The SRC is fundraising for Stewart House over the coming weeks. Most students should have received a donation envelope on Monday, 10th May. Donations of $2 or more supports the 1,800 children who attend Stewart House each year from public schools across NSW and the ACT.
Stewart House is a safe haven located at Curl Curl Beach which provides students, who need a break from their everyday life, with a range of programs and opportunities. During a 12 day stay students are provided with dental, optical, hearing and medical screening and treatment. They participate in educational programs and excursions designed to develop their social and emotional skills, build self-esteem and improve their overall well-being. This experience provides children with a much needed break from their current circumstance. The children who go to Stewart House are inspired to see beyond the present and to have real hope and positive aspirations for their future.
Donation envelopes need to be returned to the front office by Wednesday 19 May. Ensure you fill in the details on the back of the envelope to participate in the draw to win a $4,000 holiday to a destination of your choice. Every dollar helps!
Those students who did not receive an envelope can donate to the cashier at the front office and complete a form to go into the draw for the holiday.
On Monday June 7th (Week 8B), students are invited to wear their best and brightest silly socks and make a gold coin donation. The SRC will also be holding a Handball Competition – students can register for $5 which includes a Stewart House 'High-Bounce Handball'. All proceeds will go to Stewart House. Alternatively, handballs can be purchased separately for $4. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase on the day to raise additional funds.
