Grand Opening of Engadine High School's Multi-Purpose Hall

Unveiling of plaque to new hall

It was a truly special day for Engadine High School and our wonderful community as we celebrated the grand opening of our new Multi-Purpose Hall. We were honoured to welcome several distinguished guests who joined us in marking this significant milestone:

- The Hon Prue Car MP , Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning

- Member for Heathcote, Maryanne Stuart MP - Member for Heathcote

- Katherine Horner, Relieving Director, Educational Leadership, Woronora River Principals Network

- Principal, Kerrie Jones

- Deputy Principals Nathan Redmayne, Blake Leonard, Heather Stafford,

The event was filled with memorable speeches from Principal Kerrie Jones, School Captain Brooke Pollard, Sophie Weppler, Maryanne Stuart, and Prue Car, each highlighting the importance of public education and the opportunities it provides our students.

A heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country was given by our Aboriginal Educational Officer, Amy Cousins, reminding us of the significance of our land and culture in which our new hall stands.

Our talented students showcased their skills with incredible performances by our drama students, vocal ensemble, and dancers. We also enjoyed a fantastic demonstration PDHPE lesson, showcasing the diverse activities our new hall will support.

This new facility is more than just a building; it’s a beacon of opportunity, a place where our students can thrive, learn, and grow. It symbolises the commitment to providing our students with the best resources and opportunities to succeed.

Public education plays a vital role in shaping the future of our community, and today’s event is a testament to that commitment. This hall will serve as a hub for learning, creativity, and community events, benefiting not just our students but the entire Engadine community.

We are also excited to announce that our Year 12 students will be the first to use the hall as they begin their Trial HSC examinations later this week. We wish them the best of luck and are thrilled that they will be the pioneers in utilising this state-of-the-art facility.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this day unforgettable. Here's to the bright future ahead for Engadine High School and our amazing students!
