Our Gold Duke of Edinburgh students have just completed an incredible Qualifying Journey on the breathtaking Three Capes Track!
This from the travelling party:
Kicking off with an adrenaline-fueled 90-minute jet boat ride from Port Arthur, we arrived soaked in sea spray and ready for the challenge ahead. Over four days, we tackled extreme elevations, towering cliffs, thousands of steps, and some of the most stunning views imaginable.
With heavy packs on our backs, we found rest at story chairs, taking turns reading about convict history, native plants, local wildlife, and the geology of the area. Along the way, we spotted wombats, snakes, wallabies, an echidna, black cockatoos, sea eagles, and some very cheeky possums—welcome distractions from aching shoulders and burning calf muscles!
Evenings were spent refueling with dehydrated meals, sharing laughs, playing games, and swapping stories with fellow hikers.
Leaving Hobart, we may be tired and sore, but we carry with us a huge sense of pride, unforgettable memories, and stories that will last a lifetime. What an achievement!
Congratulations everyone. This is truly remarkable and an incredible ending to your 3 year journey.
Mrs Bridgeman, you are truly amazing.
