What do I need to know about technology requirements at EHS?
As EHS is a 'Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)' school, it is imperative that every student has a device to support their learning in the classroom. We expect all students to bring a laptop (or similar) to school with them every day. If this is of concern, please contact the school.
Device advice - what you need to ask for:
- 11" (minimum) screen and keyboard
- Runs both apps and programs
- Make sure it has 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz dual band wireless to access the school network
- Lightweight - aim for under 1.5kg
- 6 hour minimum battery life
- USB ports
- High performance - look for Intel Core™ i3, Core™ i5 and Core™ i7 in Windows machines and Apple products that are within the last two versions
- At least 128GB of storage in laptops, ultrabooks and two-in-ones
- Operating system - Windows 10 (version 22H2, up until October 2025 when Microsoft will cease support for Windows 10), Windows 11 or MacOS 12 (Monterey or later)
What software should I instal and where do I get it from?
