The SRC is supporting The Salvation Army’s Hamper of Hope Appeal for our final project for 2021. We are seeking donations of non-perishable food items and Christmas treats that will bring joy to others in need this festive season.
Recent Salvation Army research has found that 45% of people accessing emergency relief are skipping meals. The Salvation Army is preparing to support more people than ever this year due to COVID-19 impacts. By donating a Hamper of Hope, you’re helping the Salvation Army ensure no one is left in need this Christmas.
Please see the suggested list of items to donate. This includes tinned foods (with ring-pull cans only) such as fruits in juice and vegetables. Sweets and treats such as packets of jelly and pancake mix. Meal bases such as rice, noodles and pasta sauces. Breakfast foods such as cereal and tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.
Students can place donated items in the boxes at the Front Office or in the Library by Tuesday, 7 December, Week 10.
