Gold Duke of Edinburgh Residential Project

Congratulations to Amber Van Zyl and Sienna Smith on completing their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Residential Project!

At the end of last year, Amber and Sienna stepped out of their comfort zones by attending the Jindabyne Sport and Recreation camp alongside other Duke of Edinburgh students from across NSW. Their goal? To make new friends, try new activities, volunteer within the community, and tackle group challenges head-on.

Over five action-packed days, they embraced mountain biking, canoeing, archery, volleyball, and Frisbee golf. They also made a positive impact by creating new mountain bike trails and picking up rubbish around the tracks. Together, they solved puzzles, navigated a maze, and even built a Rube Goldberg machine.

Reflecting on the experience, Amber shared, “This camp has broadened my horizons and challenged my outlook on life. It made me think about myself as a person and reflect. When we did volunteer it made me feel so accomplished.”

We’re incredibly proud of Amber and Sienna’s achievements and the positive example they’ve set. Well done, girls
